  • thursday 3:22pm Paris time, I pinged Koji Ishii, my co-worker in the CSS WG to ask him if some acquaintance of his could help localizing BlueGriffon in ja-JP
  • he replied thirty minutes later saying "I'm more than happy to spend my 3 hours for BlueGriffon" !
  • the patch was attached to the corresponding Bugzilla bug today sunday 7:50am Paris time
  • I found an encoding problem that he fixed in two hours and a few remaining english words I fixed immediately
  • the ja-JP locale is now enabled by default for BlueGriffon 1.0 as of revision 660 !

All praise the amazing Koji Ishii !!!

Since I am working on the last showstopper bugs for 1.0, here are new daily builds for BlueGriffon.

WARNING: I made important changes to the locales and you must delete your BlueGriffon's user profile before launching these new builds.

  • on Mac : ~/Library/Applications\ Support/BlueGriffon
  • on WindowsXP: c:\Documents and Settings\yourlogin\Application Data\Disruptive Innovations SARL
  • on linux : ~/.disruptive\ innovations\ sarl

Selectors Builder in the CSS Pro Editor

I have update/revamped my old Selectors Builder code. Here's a screenshot of the result... It's not perfectly ironed yet but let me tell you it's bidirectional: if you build a selector using the controls, you'll see the textbox at the top of the dialog updated; and if you edit that textbox's content and type your selector by hand, you'll see the individual sequence's boxes appear in the dialog :-)

Firefox 4 and BlueGriffon 1.0

I am glad to report that now Firefox 4 is live, BlueGriffon is based on FIREFOX_4_0_RELEASE tag. It's probably the first Mozilla-based third-party application to do so :-)

BlueGriffon is now approaching at fast speed 1.0PR. The number of bugs of my radar is shrinking every day and only remains a bit of work on two add-ons that must be ready for 1.0 (ProjectManager and CSS Pro Editor). Stay tuned !

BlueGriffon and OS X close button

OS X users of BlueGriffon really wanted this: the close button in the main window's titlebar should contain a black dot when a document is modified and needs saving. Done (revision 590). Yay !!! FWIW, the corresponding bmo bug was filed by hsivonen almost ten years ago...

Selector Builder

Currently working on the Stylesheet editor (far more powerful than the current CSS Properties panel), I have resurrected my old CSS Selector Builder from 2005 and turned it into an add-on for Firefox. Works with both Firefox 3.x and 4.x. You can download it from here (save the file to your disk and from Firefox use the File > Open menu). It adds a new menu entry to the Tools menu.

A more modern, nicer and better version of it will be included into the Stylesheet editor...
